For the last week my knees are unbelievably sore by early evening. The pain is a lot worse than other joint pain and is just like it was 10 years ago-prediagnosis. My question is, what is it that causes sore joints especially knees.

Gotta rule out Wegs first.
Lyme's disease is also famous for causing knee pain. Usually the knees get red, hot and swollen.
I'm quite sure wg is causing the pain. What I was wondering was why or how does wg cause knee or joint pain.

I always linked the pain with increased inflammation, but honestly I seem to get random bouts of pain in knees especially on and off. I don't think I've been fully controlled yet though either.

Whatever causes it, it's absolutely awful!
Do you find it hard to pull your legs up once you're lying down? It sounds very wg like to me, too. What are you taking for the pain?

Miss me, but let me go.
No one really knows what causes the pain. The hypothesis is that it's due to generalized inflammation. Joint pain was my first symptom and it was so severe I could barely move.
Gwen-- your avatar is adorable! Your daughters are just beautiful!
I remember it being so bad I couldn't move too - really scary isn't it? What was your next symptom after that?
Thanks - they are 2, 5 and 6 years old now! I don't know where the time goes. X

I am "ruling in wegeners". This knee pain is different then any other joint pain I have. It does hurt to pull them up when laying down and it hurts for even a sheet to rest on them. For the pain...I have tylenol or advil or i do have an expired prescription for tylenol 3's somebody gave me. None of these help with the knee pain at all. I am able to work through the day without much of a problem but towards the end of the day and when I go home it is unbarable. Reminds me of the time when I was sick but undiagnosed. I prefered it when I forgot how much that hurts.

See if your doc can prescribed "Voltaren Gel"...i think that how its spelled. Anyway it helps alleviate some joint pain. Be careful on taking Advil or any NSAID pain medication.
The knee pain feels different than the joints in my hands...i find it hard to explain. I will ask the next time I am at the doctors but I am a reluctant patient to say the least.
