Thanks so much for all the feedback guys every piece of info i can get my hands on is a blessing at this stage. At the moment i am on 25mg of pred (started on 70mg) 150mg cyclophosmide(i think thats how i spell it) omeprozele vitamin d and caltrite and bactrim .I see an immunoligist named Dr Mcormack and she usually refers to heirachy at the hospital when she changes my meds she seems pretty good i do like her they say my bloods are looking pretty good but my immune system is still putting up a fight. They wont do anything for my throat until i get in some form of remission that and the weight gain are the two issues that are relly affecting me atm. Hi Shauneva, thought I would get in touch with you cause Im from Aussie as well. (Perth) Sounds like you have a good specialist, she seems to know what shes doing. terrific that your blood work is looking good. I was started on 65mg of pred about 13 yrs ago, I was on that dose for about 3 years plus Bactrium and cyclophosmide for a little while. (cant remember the dose) Im still on 15 mg steroids, bactrium and inslulin and other meds for diabetes, highblood pressure etc caused by the steriods, iIm told. But who knows my Mum was a type 2 diabetic so maybe I would have had it anyway, although probably wouldve been alot easier to manage if wasnt on steriods. The wieght gain is a problem, I weighed 55 kilos before I started the pred now I weigh 72 and only a shorty so it really shows. I hold it on my stomach mainly but I think Ive done pretty well considering. I think its great youve found this site. Its very informative, information about WG is not easy to get over here and I dont think the specialists know to much about it. Ive learnt more in the past few days since joing this site than I have in 13 years. Hope your feeling better soon Jenny

Hi Col, I go to Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital and see a Dr Hollingsworth or the registrar. How are you coping? Who do you see, Im thinking of changing to St John of Gods Dr Wei I think his name is, I got the name from another person on this site Deanne I think her name is, we were talking about starting a support group between us. I havnt had time to get back to her yet to see if she still wants to but Im sure she will. Would you be interested. i think we need something lhere. Hen
