Jack, this is horrible news. I have so much in my mind but can't articulate any of it coherently. You're an amazing man who has touched me deeply and I am sending you everything I have. Lots and lots of love.

I'm still here!
My previous post was a bit blunt so I'll tell you what I know, which is very little. But first of all, thanks to everyone who has written or posted for your kind words, they mean a lot to me.
I had a scan with dye to check out all the issues I was having with breathing and this showed a shadow on my lung, they were able to compare this with previous chest pictures of mine and decided that it was a tumour and it was growing. I am now under the care of the chest department and they will be doing further tests during the coming week. They then have a multi disciplinary meeting on Friday to decide the best course of action. I have had a chat with the doctor in charge of my care and he says that due to my condition and previous history there is probably no case for treatment. He also asked about resuscitation and I told him that I did not want it. I'm not sure if this is a drug side effect, something connected with Wegener's or just bad luck. Perhaps the tests will show although it makes little difference.
I have had years to come to terms with this situation and I'm OK with it. Not worried, distressed or frightened. All my business is in order to provide for the family, but I feel sad that I won't be able to teach my youngest daughter to drive.
I have no internet access at the hospital, but they have allowed me to come home yesterday and today, just sitting with the family and watching TV. If I get the chance, I'll post whenever I can
