Default Who can recommend the best wegs doctor to see in australia.

I looking for a good Doctor, with Wegs experience, in Australia, for a second opinion, I am willing to travel anywhere in Australia to find such a Doctor, all my blood tests have been good, but my PR3, which was once in the negative level (<2.0 Iu/ml) Oct 2013 has risen to around 12 IU/ml April 2014, and has been anywhere from 8 IU/ml to 15 IU/ml since then, I have maxed out my aza to be on 300mg per day, have even tried a little pred 5mg for 2 months to see if that would bring it down, but my reumy is stumped, and that's why I am looking for a second opinion. I have been in good health, working full time, and besides aches and pains and fatigue, feel reasonable well.

    Thanks Woz...

I see an awesome doc at RPA in Sydney: Professor Stephen Adelstein. Top notch bloke. Several in Sydney are great too. Where are you located?

Many thanks Andrew, I live in northern N.S.W. half an hour inland from Byron Bay, 1 hours from QLD border, a plane takes about 1 hour 40 mins from Ballina airport, to get to Sydney airport, I will definitely look him up.

Sorry that you are struggling with the disease again. Are any other markers up?
I'm saying this as my PR3 is now 45 but no other markers are up. I have recently seen my specialist and he is not too concerned, just wants to watch and wait.
As for another specialist I have a few friends with WG who see Dr G Majors at the John Hunter Hospital and Newcastle

Thanks for the info jeniban, all my markers have been great , except for my PR3, which seems to hover around 8 to 15, my reumy isn't too worried, she wants to watch and wait, when first diagnosed my PR3 was 60, I would like to get it back to under 2.0 Iu/ml, if possible, but maybe this is as good as it gets, time will tell.

    Regards Woz....
