I started at 14mg of pred from 15mg yesterday. I hope I can taper down lower than 9mg. That is the lowest I have been in almost 5 years.

I will also be taking Septra twice a day for the next 6 months. My doc thinks maybe this may be a good approach since I have such severe lung issues and will have bronchs for the rest of my life at least 6 months apart.

What is the dose of Septra that you will be taking? I'm on 2x960 mg daily...
Good luck with the tapering of Pred. I sure hope you will get under or around your lowest dose.

I take one 480mg tab twice a day of the Septra.

OK this may be a dumb question but I know its not the first and I'm sure it won't be the last but what exactly is a bronc and what does it do for you? My reumy has asked me twice if my pulmy has given me one but he won't and I don't know what it involves. I used to take bactrim before also,with all the breathing problems I've been having lately I wonder if I should see about starting that up again.Tommorrow I'm gonna start going down to 9 mg of pred for 2 weeks then keep reducing 1mg every 2 weeks until I get to 5. No fast jumps for me this time.
