Acne side effect suggestions

My son was recently upped to 60 mg of prednisone and now has acne all over his back, shoulders and chest. It almost looks Like a rash. Any treatment suggestions?

Unfortunately, it's one of the typical side effects of high-dose pred. I don't think there's anything you can do but continue to limit sugar, salt and processed foods so they don't contribute to the hormonal imbalance. It does decrease as the pred is tapered.

I've had it on high dose it completely disappeaed for me once I tapered to 20mg.

If they are inflamed red and itchy, you might try to slather on some cooled oatmeal which may take away some of the inflamation and itchiness. Added to the raging hormones, pred will do that and you just have to wait it out unntil he goes onto a lowered dose.
