It does not seem very long ago that I refused to have anything to do with wheelchairs and when I rented a mobility scooter for a day out, I kept it secret! These days are long past.

I plan on visiting my sister on Saturday where both of my sisters and my brothers-in-law will be taking part in a steam rally and country fair. They have all recently acquired vintage, powered cycles which the lads have rebuilt and they will be part of a parade! Anyway, in order to be able to get around, I decided that I needed to rent a mobility scooter, but insurance problems have pretty well stopped these being available. So I have bought myself a second hand one! I rode it around the block yesterday evening and it was great fun! It is going to be a bit of a struggle for the girls to dismantle it and get it in the car though.

Just been out on another little trip - my wife says that I am a lot brighter in myself when I get out and do things. Driving the car around is fine for longer journeys, but I would never just take it round the block for some fresh air and a change of scenery.
