Has anyone on here had weight loss surgery? Considering it but with the wg not sure how it would work.

Gastric bypass or liposuction? Either way you need somebody who understands WG and will consult with your specialist before making the decision to treat you. They won't even let me go to the dentist without taking huge doses of antibiotics prior to the appointment. I can only imagine what would be required for something more invasive than dental work. On the other hand, getting control of weight could be a major health benefit.
Surgeons tend to be very cautious about doing any surgery on some one with Wegs. I had to wait til I was in drug induced remission for over year to have my BAHA installed or TURP surgery. They did allow cataract surgery after a few months since they said that was not at all invasive and held little risk of any infection.
Knowledge is power! Wisdom is using it to make good decisions!
I'm considering the sleeve it doesn't seem as invasive. Thanks for the feedback.

I think Bob had it done, but, if I remember correctly, it was pre WG.
I have heard great things about self hypnosis tapes that are geared around weight loss, or even going to a hypnotherapist.
I would definitely try other options before going through any stomach reducing surgery.

No to the weight-loss surgery, but as the others have mentioned, I have been turned down for my lumbar fusion surgery for at least the next year, until I'm off all chemo meds and in "remission". As bad as my back is, it seems like it'll be a VERY long year to wait to have this much-needed surgery, but I can see why they don't want to operate on someone with WG or on chemo. I pray you find some very intelligent physicians that take all your health concerns into account here. God bless.
