Default Eye Biopsy Please read and adivise me

Has anyone had an Eye biopsy of under the eye lid. My daughtr has had red eyes for a year after going to four different doctors and trying different eye drops. I took her to an eye doctor who specializes in auto immune disorders. He said she has episclerities due to her Auto Immune disorder positive Panca and MPO. He also found scar tissue, this is where the biopsy will be done. But even if the biopsy comes back negative for vasculities she will stilll be treated with MTX. Can someone please advise me. Im new at this.
If someone here has taken MTX please tell me your point of view. Good or Bad I want to know everything I can to help my daughter.

I really don't think it is a good idea to have an eye doc look after the Wegs or whatever vasculitis it happens to be. You need a Wegs specialist, or at least consult with one like Dr. Seo, Specks, Stone, Langford, etc.

I know phil. He specializes in Auto immune disorders in the eye and finally connected her eye situation with her positive Anca. Im hoping the Biopsy will give us more answers. Its so frustrating after all this time her rheumy was saying her episcleritis was not do to her disorder, even after a year with red eyes/ Im stuck here wherei there are no other rheumatologist who attend children and my Insurance doesn't let me see anyone away. Finally Im glad someone gave us an answer and is pushing for a biospy when no one else did. She looks so healthy like most of weg. patients and bcse of her few symptoms they just are not doing anything. Im very frustrated.

Is there a teaching childrens Hospital that is near by or a few hours that you can look into. I do believe her eye issue is connected to WG.

It's a good step forward, Maria. I'm glad you persisted on behalf of your daughter.

Sangye thank you. I cry from frustration of these un knowledgable Drs.. now to figure out why her nose has been stuffed for the past year. The ENT that saw her refused to do a biopsy and never diagnosed her. Tried to blame it on allergies and when the meds didn't work he sent us homeeven tough I kept begging him to please to a biopsy to confirm if she had Wegs. Im looking for the best Ent. who will do a Biopsy and then he would have to participate with her insurance. My insurance doesn't let me see Dr. away. Her rhematologist kept saying episcleritis had nothing to do with her immune disorder and a year later we find out its chronic bcse it is positive for her auto immune disorder. Im so mad at all these doctors! Do you live in the Us? What inurance to you carry?

I understand your frustration. I know you're gonna find the best doctors for your daughter. I live in Maryland and because I've been on Disability I have Medicare. Johns Hopkins takes that, which makes my life so much easier. I was briefly trapped in the "insurance doesn't cover your doctor" mess and it was miserable. It should never come down to that.
