I read her book recently "Are You My Guru?" Very interesting.
That's awesome! Was her book good? It sounds interesting.

Uh oh, I was scared for a second. I read a Q & A she did, and when asked how she's gotten healthy, she said she stopped taking all her Wegs meds, and suddenly was healthier. But then in the next sentence, she says it was Rituxan that has made all the difference for her. She said: "I started taking this new drug, Rituxan, that was a lot gentler, a lot more targeted and that has been a real success story."
Well done, Leigh! Now we have a famous face for our little group of weggies (lol - I know how you love that word!!)
I have emailed back and forth with her extensively (she and I share a ENT, and a neighbor's sister is a good friend), and she wrote an article for Self or Shape or one of those magazines about how after the first time she went into remission she went into deep denial when she started becoming symptomatic again and wound up in absolutely horrible condition. I have no idea of where her head is at now, but it is definitely a cautionary tale (I read it shortly after diagnosis and was horrified).
It sounds like she thoroughly convinced herself that treating Wegs with natural treatments is a very bad idea. That makes two of us!
Her books sound interesting. I may have to check them out further.
