You are so right. Al was a light for this Forum. He will be missed by all.

Phil I'm praying for your recovery. You have made a big difference in this forum. I was just thinking how much I learned in this forum. Thanks for always answering my dumb questions. I read back now and I can feel the confusion and frustration I felt two years ago when I joined. How is Sangy? She is another trooper I haven't seen any new post from her.
I have met several in our little town. My internist has 3 of us and she is no Weg Specialist so it seems we have an unusually high number in our area. All of us were different in our symptoms and treatment. I found their info and encouragement and support helpful with the first one and found myself in that role with the next one. But I find I have much more in common with other diabetics since our symptoms and treatment tends to be more similar.
Thank you very much Ines and you are most welcome. It is my pleasure. How is Christina doing?

I've read in various places that there is about one Weggie per 25-30000 people. However, Phil, I would go along with your assessment that there are a lot more than that, and I think you say it's about 1 per 5,000. I find that plausible, since we are apparently factoring in those who are sick and have Wegs but have not been diagnosed and maybe never will be.

Maria, I communicate with Sangye on Twitter and I think Phil keeps in touch with her, too. I'm not sure if she is just taking a break from the forum, or what, but I do know she is pretty busy these days with issues at her temple and probably other things, too. I think she is doing OK, healthwise, though she doesn't talk about it much on Twitter.

I'm going to miss a very good friend and physician. My Wegs doc is gone now. The health region forced him out. A very sad month for me. We will still stay in touch by phone and e-mail, but it is not the same as being together in person.
At least others will still be able to see him. He is in Yarmouth, NS now, so anyone in the Maritimes now can go see a Wegs specialist. His name is Senyo Tagboto. He is a Nephrologist.
He said he really likes my new Nephrologist. I meet her for the first time on July 29th. I am anxious to meet her.
I am also going on many holidays this summer to Montana, Banff and Jasper, and BC. At least this will help me keep my mind occupied.

Thanks vdub. I have a new doc already. I just have not seen her yet. I see her in about 2 weeks, but unfortunately I have to travel about 3 hours one way to see her.
I am quite pissed at the regional health authority. Especially the chief medical officer, he is a total dink. The CEO and board is not much better.
