both sides of the coin are real. so it is a personal choice. I do know my docs want me to be healthy but I do feel pressured by them. the pneum shot is not a yrly one. sangye is right abt them not being 100% effective. I gave in after arguing abt it. when we are in a weakened cond. as we are, its hard to make decisions abt all these things, and ther are so many because we are so compromised. ???

Yes, the pressure is intense. I still get the snarls and condescending looks when I tell my docs I'm not going to do any vaccines. I tell them I am well-educated in vaccination theory and my decision is based on science, not emotion. I also tell them what I do to stay safe-- that I'm not just refusing vaccines and hoping for the best. They still snarl. Thank goodness Dr Seo has given up and doesn't bring it up anymore.

In the end you don't owe your doctors an explanation. It's your body. You can just tell them you've decided and don't wish to continue having conversations about it. Done.

one of the things I have hated most abt getting WG is that I feel many of my choices have been taken away. its do this or they could be dire consequences. sigh... so i bite the bullet and do it and so far its been getting steadily better. always remember mind over matter.

I got 3 vaccines this morning: Hib, Meningococcal, and Pneumococcal. I felt faint and wanted to throw up afterwards for a while but feel mostly okay now.

Soon you will be able to hear again!!! Hurray! When is your surgery?

There is no guarantee if I will hear again. But being that I have late stage complete hearing loss the odds seem to be in my favour. The surgery is Sept. 22 and the turn on date is Oct. 28.

When I had my 3 month break from mtx for my knee surgery, I took advantage of having a good immune system and had every possible vaccine I could. I got shingles, pnemonia, etc. I'm glad I did. There is risk with a vaccine, but less risk than not having one.
