Congrats, phil, getting off the preds is great. There is hope then for all of us to get off too. Congrats again and stay off that stuff.

My lung doc called and my next dilation is Aug. 16th. He said it would not be a good idea to give me IV antibiotic like Clindamycin before the procedure. He said he will talk to me about that when he sees me. I wonder why that is not a good idea and I wonder what can be done to prevent these nasty infections after the procedures. Maybe there is no way around it.

Dear Phil,
good questions to ask him.
I hope there is a way to prevent the infections.
if he doesn't know a way, maybe other doc can find one.

Dilation went well but back on pred again.

Back on pred cuz doc thinks it might be related to the worsening breathing. If the breathing gets better in a week or two then we know it is the pred......maybe. Will try and get to see my new Wegs doc too in Sept.

Sorry to hear that, preds is a battle I've been fighting all the time but have been ok, since I have stayed at 4mg !!! We have decided that if this is what has to be so be it !!! fingers crossed you will get sorted and get off them DEE x

How much pred do you need to take? Would you happen to know an estimate on how much the body produces on its own? I tried googling but couldn't find any info. Guess it might not be directly comparable to the tabs we take?
