    Default Seasonal Allergy Question

So coming up fast on pollen season. This will be my first pollen season with WPA. I typically start over the counter allergy medicine the first week of March. Has anyone had issues with allergy medicine or seasonal allergies and WPA?

Consult with your doctor but I always treat allergies the same as I always have; independent of GPA.

I’ve had good results treating allergy symptoms with OTC meds. I take 10 mg of loratidiene daily along with two puffs of Flonase in each nostril daily. My pulmonologist who led my treatment team for the first 18 months suggested loratidiene and phenylephrine to keep my sinuses dry. My cardiologist suggested Flonase instead of phenylephrine because its effect on blood pressure is minimal.

As @gunnyl said, consult with your doctor (either your GPA doc or your PCP) for guidance.

I've had seasonal allergies since I was 7 years old and as an adult it's been bad from February to November. Interesting for me that I haven't had any symptoms since 2020 when I was diagnosed with GPA. I assume it's the immune suppressing drugs working.

My allergies kicked in 30 yeats ago, when I quit smoking. I guess the tar and nicotine were protecting my lungs.
we have a cat so I use generic Flonase twice a day and take generic Claritin twice a day.
