I was asked by my Rheumatologist to present my own GPA case and the events leading up to diagnosis to a group of medical students in a couple of months at their annual symposium.

I was initially misdiagnosed by an infectious disease doctor in Dallas and it almost cost me my life.

I was given access to the Hospitals research sites while I was admitted and I was able to identify the 'trigger' and the missed symptoms that followed leading up to the actual diagnosis.

I have been very blessed with amazing doctors since the day I was diagnosed and have managed to keep the wolf at bay by having a partnership approach to my care. I was exceptionally blessed to get a new Rheumy today who is very versed in our disease and committed to continuing the partnership.
