In the USA, it’s Nurses Week, a time to recognize the nurses who have helped us when we were sick. All of us have had some excellent nursing care associated with our GPA experiences. Two nurses who were most helpful to me during my hospitalization at OSU were:

Cherie - the day shift nurse who encouraged me to put on a mask and walk in the hallway so I wouldn’t need a daily shot of heparin (given in the abdomen) to prevent DVT.

Randy - the night shift nurse who changed my bed several times when I had night sweats. I think one night, he changed my linens three times...

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my sister-in-law Franci Williams who passed away on 24 March due to glioblastoma (brain cancer). She was also a kidney donor. She worked in the endoscopy lab at one of our hometown hospitals.
