Cellcept and Myfortic

Cellcept = mycophenolate mofetil

Myfortic = mycophenolic acid

I started this thread to help us all get untangled about Cellcept vs Myfortic. They're very similar, but I'd like to have some discussion about their comparative efficacy, side effects, etc....

I've never taken Myfortic, but I was on Cellcept for 2.5 yrs without pred. I was never in remission. I've heard from many people that they felt like Cellcept didn't fully keep their Wegs in check and then they outright flared. That was the case for me.

Cellcept worked well for me and I only changed to Myfortic because I was having trouble with my digestive system. Things in that area did not improve so obviously the Cellcept was not to blame after all.

I am hoping the cellcept works for me. I am having a Hida scan tomorrow to check my gallbladder. Need to see if this stomach is from that. I actually feel a little better today. I have two family members who had their gallbladder removed "emergently", so I need to get this checked.
