What an experience! I got to sit in from of 35 future doctors at Harvard Med School, tell my story and field a few questions from them yesterday! Dr. Stone, the guest lecturer, went first and covered vasculitis from a PowerPoint presentation. Then, I shared my story and he covered my case. Very nice experience!

They did not tape the session, but I am getting a soft copy of his PowerPoint for what it's worth. I'll have to delete the pics of his other patients, but the other info and my case will be included

That's really great, Gary. Thank you for doing it-- makes a strong impression on docs to learn like that. Let's hope those 35 remember it well and teach others. My Wegs doc is a Harvard grad. Who knows-- maybe a future Wegs specialist was sitting there learning from you! Wouldn't that be something?

Gary- I agree! Too cool! I spent time in a teaching hospital during my treatment, and I thought having all of those interns and specialists and visiting famous doctors, etc., etc. was something (my case is somewhere in the books and on the internet, but I haven't located them....), but your experience would have been very illuminating, I think. Too bad it wasn't videotaped. I imagine there are other times similar events occur that we weggies could benefit from the experience of viewing, but they are held as classes, like this one. The Vasculitis Foundation has conferences that they videotape and offer, yet buying one for personal use limits their value: Too bad these aren't placed on YouTube!

The main thing, though, is a very prestigious medical school got to hear about this disease from an expert doctor and the biggest expert of all, a weggie! I proclaim you famous, Gary!

LOL, thanks Doug. I've alway wanted to be famous! I tried to get the powerpoint, but it has patient picture in it. It was a nice experience, the med students even all signed and sent a thank you card!
