    Default Off prednisone

Have been weaning myself off of Prednisone for several months now. Just met with my doctor this afternoon...and beginning tomorrow I will go from .5 mg every other day to totally off of it.

    Wish me luck!

    Good luck.
I think its too fast to switch from 5mg to 0mg every other day. It will be more safe to taper down 1mg every few weeks.

Going from 0.5 mg to nothing...not 5 mg to nothing. Tapered at 0.5 mg drops over several months.

That sounds great to me. Congrats on getting down to .5! Being off it will be even better!

It's always good to reduce the number of pill bottles in your medicine cabinet. I had a successful taper off of prednisone. I think my last dose was either 1.0 or .5 mg. Best wishes....
