So there's a problem with uploading photos.

When you take a photo on your digital camera or phone, a bunch of data gets saved with it such as location, size of photo, device it was captured with, whether or not the flash was used and orientation to name a few.

Why am I telling you this? Well it's because the orientation information that gets saved with the pictures you take gets read by the forum when you upload a photo.

If for example you've taken the photo with your phone and chosen to take it with your left hand in landscape mode (phone on its side), that means the picture according to the orientation information is upside down. So when you upload the photo to the forum for all to see...it's upside down. I've yet to find a fix for this so you have two options if your photos look wonky when you upload them:

    1. download the upside down photos from the forum, open them with your favourite image editing software and flip 'em around so they look like they should, then re-upload them.
    2. Strip out the orientation information with Photoshop, Lightroom or whatever image editing software takes your fancy - actually I don't know if you can do that in Photoshop - def in Lightroom tho.

    ok...three options:

    3. message me and I'll fix them for you.

PS: Aren't the upside down photos right side up down under? (-8

So are you saying that if we take a photo on our phone in portrait mode, rather than landscape, it will be right side up? I think I'll just email to to myself and deal with it on my computer.

My favorite photo editing tool is IView. Its free, very easy to use, and it will strip the data orientation information. The easiest thing to do, tho, is to orient the picture correctly (in Iview type an R or L to twist the image 90 degrees), then "save as" for a new image. Upload the new image.
