    Default Best Treatment/Dr?

The husband and I tossed around the idea of moving while we were on vacation. We are both starting to hate California.
Where is the BEST hospital/doctors? I know anywhere near a Mayo Clinic but anywhere else? That was one of his criteria for moving. It had to be somewhere near a vasculitis specialist.
    Thoughts???

Since you're already 'north', Portland Oregon has a new vasculitis center at OHSU...just a thought. Keep at it kiddo.

Oregon (especially the Portland area) was a place we were talking about. I will definitely check that out.

Dan was looking at houses in Cleveland the other day. Not sure I want to trade wine country for Cleveland but I just don't know.

The Mayo clinic in MN might be too big of climate change but there are many specialists there and it is a nice smaller size city and often ranks very high in national surveys as good place to live.

    To Nikki:
I think in your prior post you mentioned that you are a Kaiser patient. Yes .. OHSU has a new Vasculitis Center , BUT when I asked Kaiser to refer me there, I was told that they (Kaiser) feel they can do as well for me as OHSU. Kaiser has done very well for me over the past 8 Wegeners years. They are leaving a few doubts in my mind currently. They do respond to requests for second opinions from with-in their own system. If you came to Portland then I would know that they are treating at least two Wegeners patients.

My great great grandfather has a town in MN named after him. Its a big change but ... Perhaps not off the list.
I also have to find a job in my line of work with comparable wages. I know there's a cost of living change but ... The CA debt comes along with me!

Kaiser was a major struggle for a diagnosis and even now ... When I have a simple issue u related (appendicitis, common cold) the docs I see when my GP is out don't know what Wegs is. Or when I've ended up in ER in agony I get that "you're not sick, you must be seeking pain meds" look.
I have a good rheumy now that she's on board with RTX. We ran out of less toxic options.
It would really depend on what my employer would provide wherever I end up.
My first choice is OR. But, who knows?

They are always short handed at the 911 Center. Just saying.
