Its called peritoneal dialysis. I don't know much about it other than what's on wiki, but I've always been interested in it as an alternative. I can imagine that multiple visits per week to a dialysis center would be pretty tiresome. I empathize with anyone having to do that. Good luck!

In our locale several people get training on how to do their dialysis at home. It is a procedure that can be learned and apparently works well for those motivated to use it.
