I recently got my facebook page hacked into, which I can still not sign into to, everytime I try to get a code to reset my password word a undeliveable messages comes to my email from these work at home sites, and facebook does not have a "help" phone #. These people also got into my email account. I had to call the cable co. to get my password changed but in the meantime I had over 400 emails deleted. Which was fine with me since I hate going thru my e-mails ...but still. Also Amazon had me change my password because someone was trying to use my account and Visa had to send me a different card since they said it looked like suspicious activity.I had the Qeek squad run an entire scan and found no threats or viruses. I do have an Android tablet with a different e-mail account ) that I requested some of my friends back onto that..haven't got that all done yet. Since I am so computer stupid ,does anyone know how to fix these ??? I tried what they said on the computer but nothing works

I also saw on T.V. the other night ,that those "quizzes" you take on fb to see who you might be, that ask you different questions..like the one Michelle did that showed I was her evil twin and Geoff was mine !!! They are from hackers getting into your computer to get info, so everyone be carerful with those things. So if anyone knows any tricks I can use I appreciated it.

Can't help you with the computer issues, Deb. I agree on the time change issue. I prefer year-round daylight time with the later sunsets.

Deb that sucks. It seems to be happening more lately. Here are some tips.

Facebook don't offer the opportunity to speak to a human - only contact forms.

Firstly, I found this link in the Facebook help community: https://www.facebook.com/hacked

Secondly, if the above doesn't work there's this contact form which you may already have tried: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/357439354283890

One other thing you can try is to submit an appeal against the disabling of your Facebook account. Yes, it's technically not disabled but it might get some attention.

Lastly - and this is for everyone - while all those surveys and questionnaires seem like fun because you never know who's going to be your spouse in your next life or who has the same shaped nose as you - you have no idea where they're coming from, who wrote them or what they're doing. Ignore them and keep scrolling.

Deb you may well have to just start a new account as you've done. It's probably gong to be the only way to keep going if you want to keep using Facebook. While Facebook talk the talk regarding privacy they don't walk the walk. In reality Facebook feeds off our personal lives so they actually have no incentive to protect anyone.

A couple of suggestions for everyone to keep your Facebook account secure:

1. Use a different email address from your main one - make it dedicated to Facebook only
2. Use a unique password for Facebook - one that you don't use anywhere else.
3. Find and use a virus scanner/malware checker

Thanks Andrew, I will try those things. I did try the one thing where you have a friend give you your url code, but I tried that with my moms laptop since she is a "friend" but that didn't work. And you are right I got a number for facebook and it is all recorded saying that they do not supply tech. help on the phone. Hell (sorry !) with all the money that co. has you think you could talk to someone !!
Like I said , I saw on t.v. where those questionnaires are hackers trying to get your info but I think this came from an e-mail because I was looking at one that was a secret shopper for K-mart and it turned out to be a scam. They sent me 2 checks over $ 2000.00 each to get me started and they would text me to cash the checks.Well I confronted a "recording on their phone #" saying I knew this was a scam and that I was going to report them." Then blocked their #'s. They just wanted my banking info. That's why I think I keep getting messages unabled to be delivered from " job opportunities" when I try to retrieve a code to get into facebook. And a lot off my emails are missing.
This really does suck because I if I close that account I loose everything I saved not to mention all the b.s. I'll have to go through.

At the moment we have found that it is those health links about WG etc and also videos that are the problem on facebook.

Michelle,really..those are a problem too ? I read those sometimes too. Is nothing safe.This really pisses me off. I sent fb a message from those 2 sites you gave me Andrew, but I have not received anything back from them, probably since its the weekend or maybe they just don't care !!!!
My computer got hacked into about 8 years ago also. I turned it on and on the screen it said "porn has taken over your computer and it looked like blood running down. I thought wtf, I never get into porn and I had lost EVERYTHING, the worst was my pics of my dad who has past and others. Now I download them onto a flashdrive. Why do people have to be this way, just get a life and leave others alone.
I am to the point where I hate to put anything on the computer. I will let ya'll know if I get it fixed.

I receive a lot of phony emails from pay pal or paypol,and banks that I don't do business with.It's all scary.Facebook is a great place to connect with people you really trust .Friending people on Facebook that you don't know is not a good idea.Debra,I think you had this problem a little while back.Google,Gmail,Facebook,and others gather a Hugh amount of info about us,and can pinpoint your location.The last community I lived at they would name the community by name.That is too close for comfort.So,be very careful.

I'm sorry, Deb. A friend got her FB page hacked by someone trying to take over her page and supply different information about her than was true. She somehow got it fixed through the Facebook help system, supplying a new password, etc., pretty quickly. I wish I could give more details, but can't. It sounds like your situation is a little more complicated. Good luck, I hope you can get it sorted out. Darn it.

Deb, the pm turned out to be nothing, I did finally open it and it was okay, no worries here. If I may ask, do you use a PC or a Mac. I have had little issues on my Mac for the last five years. My PC was always giving me issues to deal with. Sorry I didn't get back sooner but I actually felt pretty good today and did some garden prep. Then of course I crashed and slept for two hours.
