    Default Advair 500/50

Last week I started Advier 500/50 it is helping me to breathe easily and also decreased the coughing, but with every puff feels like I have sand in my mouth and throat, my throat has a tickle like you need to clear that every couple of minutes even after I rinse and brush my teeth. Also my tongue is very tender, sore and numb. I have difficulty eating and drinking.

I talked to my doc, he decreased the dosage to 250/50 but no change in my mouth only my cough get worse.

Did any one experience similar symptoms and what kind of things can I do to ease the tenderness.
    Any suggestions?

I was on that and didn't like it, I can't remember why. Anyways, I am now on symbicort. Maybe you can be switched to something else?

I use the albuterol inhaler on and off. I have not used the symbicort yet. Brooke , how long have you been on symbicort? Side effects that you noticed?

    Default Advair

My husband has been on Advair for years to treat his asthma. He had problems too at first but eventually it did get better. About the only thing you can do is to rinse your mouth out after using it.
I hope things get better for you. If not, maybe your Dr. can find something else to help you.

I use both Symbicort and Spiriva inhalers and have no side effects. They are the most effective things I have tried, but I still cough a lot.

    No, nothing else.
I'm signed off from the pulmonary unit now because there was nothing more they could do for me.

I have been on symbicort for about a year. I have not noticed any side effects. That is the one medication that I forget to take at times.

My particular problem is that I have Bronchiectasis which means that in addition to producing increased amounts of mucus my lungs now lack the normal mechanism that would automatically remove it. Therefor, a certain amount of coughing is going to be inevitable if I am to avoid drowning.
