Not sure about the Spirulina or Chlporella, but I take turmeric daily. I have had chronic left hip pain since diagnosis and the turmeric helps me GREATLY!!

I think its great to talk about natural ways, even if they dont cure us. So thanks for getting the conversation started.

I'm just as interested in doing what i can do be healthier, or as healthy as I can potentially be.

Those of you who can't take Spirulina or Tumeric, is there a contraindication or is it b/c of tummy upset?

I use the spices/foods but I don't want to cause problems if there is some reason not to. Let me know!

Also- have there been any good threads on the forum about diets/herbs?

I just signed up this year so I feel like I've probably missed all the great discussions about this topic.

I don't recall a specific discussion of herbs and supplements, but you can search the forum by typing the words into the search box above.

Tumeric can be a problem for those of us on warfarin.

Activation of autoimmunity following use of immunostimulatory herbal supplements. - PubMed - NCBI

Spirulina will stimulate your immune response, it is seriously toxic to us.

    Ditto Echinacea, Goldenseal, Astragalus.

The literature that comes with Cytoxan also says to avoid turmeric. Still, I used a little curry here and there during that time, in great moderation. I think it is important to know because people may otherwise take supplements of it to reduce inflammation.

I have also heard that Elderberry is an immune stimulant, and thus another one to avoid.
