Default *it happens -- my routine crash

I have probably mentioned this before, but don't remember (my memory or lack of was an unfortunate side-effect of my brain surgery). Anyway, periodically, maybe every 6 to 8 months, I totally crash. Can't even keep my eyes open, so I go to sleep. Sometimes I will sleep a couple days, other times only 20 hrs or so. Yesterday, I slept 24 hrs. There's nothing leading up to it that might be an indicator that it might happen. But when it does hit, I can now recognize it as more than just needing a nap.

Yesterday, I had had a good nights sleep and got up at the normal time. One hour and 2 cups of coffee later, tho, I knew this was going to be one of those days. I went back to bed at about 0800 and stayed there sound asleep (not just resting) for 7 hrs. And, this was after having 2 cups of coffee.

Its kind of strange.... Its like my body telling me "ok we want to do a little maintenance work and install some new patches -- it will take a couple of reboots, so don't wake up until we're done.

I like your computer analogy Vdub! of course I shouldn't have expected anything else from you!
You are absolutely right to "crash out", as if you had a choice in the matter?
I learnt early on that it was not a "sign of weakness" to give in and troop up to bed, providing I could make the stairs!

Hope those software programmers work double time and get you back 'on line' real soon! Best wishes my friend

I hope your circuits are recharged and fully functional soon vdub.

What does your wife do when you sleep the days away?

Take it easy and hopefully the new programme will see you without WG

I thought I was the only one that did that! Mine aren't 24 hours in a stretch, but there are some weekends that I crash and sleep 6 hours with maybe an hour or two up in between. I can totally relate to this, TOTALLY!!

Happy dreams rip-van-vdub! See you when your beard is long! Maybe one of these days we can compare them!! LOL!!

Some days I just run out of spoons and need to change my plans and nap a lot to recharge too. I think it is just part of our new "normal".

First time I hit the 'wall', I thought I was relapsing...went to sleep for 12 hours, voila...back to it again. Yes, recharging seems to be part of this game...recognize it, follow it, sleep on it, get going again...it IS the new normal.

I usually do about four hours in middle of the day. Back to bed at eight straight thru. Maybe once a month.

And I am doing anything I can to fight this new normal, because, quite frankly it stinks!!

I know I have those days, especially now with the cold and gloomy days, that I can curl up on the couch and take a 3 hr nap. But I have never slept a day away. I am just worried vdub and hope you are not having a flare. That car isn't gonna get on the road with out you !!!
