Snowed in, in Southern Ohio

We are getting the most ridiculous weather here in Southern Ohio, 1st flooding and then 14" of snow so far. The snow is still coming down and the temps are dropping. There are people that have lost their electricity and their roads are closed due to high water or roads caving in. We live almost a mile from a hardtop road and have to plow ourselves out when we get snows like this. So far we have been blessed that we still have electric and haven't had to use the generators or alternative heat sources. My windshield on my car cracked from the ice and snow. We have some good neighbors and we look after each other. I hope that this is the last big winter storm, it is starting to feel like Boston here, with no where to put the snow that we have plowed.

The northeast really seems to be getting hit hard this year. I'm sure the snow removal bills are going to be quite high. We lived in Dayton for 3 or 4 years and I remember some cold weather then. I've grown rather fond of not having any snow or cold weather. :-)

We didn't get much on the NW side of Columbus -maybe an inch or so. Amazing what a difference 75 miles can make. It's supposed to go down to -1 tonight. Have I mentioned lately that I HATE WINTER!!!!

We lucked out up here. No snow today and the sun in shineing and we have reached a high of 12 so far !!!!! They say we get to 50 by next Thurs. !!!! Don't forget to change the clocks this weekend.........YEA !!! There is light out the end of this tunnel.

I live in Lexington, KY and we got walloped by this last storm. Two inches of rain, then sleet, then 15 inches of snow. Also supposed to be record cold tonight, down to zero or minus 1. We've had 30 inches of snow in the last 17 days and now the sixth snowiest winter on record. Normal high for this time of year is 51 degrees.

I grew up in North Dakota so am used to snow and cold (don't miss it though) but they are not equipped to deal with this much snow this far south. Our last big snow two weeks ago, my kids were out of school for a week and it took a week to get our mail and for the snowplow to go down our street, and I live in town. Can't wait for Spring!!!!!!

Had a friend in Tucson that used to send me a photo from his sunny deck thermometer when my temps were in the single digits. I used to send back to him a not so nice photo of one of my right fingers pointing to the snow bank... But I don't know you well enough to do that! (-8 LOL!

Thanks for bringing back good memories of good fun with old friends.

even in Israel, 2 weeks ago, we had snow in places that never before had it. not in mine. we had crazy rain.
