Another reason to only go back part time to start is that you will be more successful getting SS disability if you have not been working full time, or at all, for something like 6 months. I don't remember all the details. I hope it will not come to that.

The info is on the Social Security website, but it is pretty darn convoluted and hard to follow. So I'd just go back to work and do the best I could, if I were you, keeping in mind to save up some in case I needed to have some non-work or very limited work months before applying for SSD. Then, if you are approved for benefits, they will reimburse you with a retroactive amount for that time period.
