Default Saved my neighbours life this weekend

He had a heart attack in his driveway and I had to do cpr on him. Just found out this evening that he is alive and will be home this weekend.

Be joyous, you helped save a fellow human being, well done, be proud and happy. We have little enough in our lives sometimes to be proud and happy about.

Thank you Leigh - you are awesome

Terry is right, you should be proud of what you have done.
Not only have you helped your neighbour but also saved his family from all sorts of new issues, stresses and grief, if the worst had happened.

I don't even know these people but I say - Thank you

there is a ton of stuff they DONT teach you in a first aid course.

    1. if you ever use it it will probably be on someone you know or love. This completely negates the belief that most of us have that we cant/wont do it. To see him lying there and to see/hear his wife loosing her love totally took over my doubts and I went in to auto-pilot.
    2. after you do it and you google cpr you will find out that only 2% of people that needed cpr out of a hospital setting survive. That is horrible to read. It messes with your mind.
    3. you will not be able to sleep afterwards if you do know the person. when you do sleep you dream of the incident.
    4. your abs will hurt like hell
    5. If they do survive it is quite an awesome feeling although the anticipation of seeing him after I kissed him lol is a bit disturbing...he is not my type.

Leigh, you are a hero for sure. So awesome! And I'm glad you shared it with us. And I wouldn't worry about having kissed him; that may be part of what saved his life! I doubt it will carry any future expectations with it.

    Leigh,
That is a very remarkable thing you did, be very proud of yourself. Just the fact that you were able to have the strength to do CPR is amazing in it's self, let alone the odds that you mentioned. I'm sure that it will leave an impact on both you and your neighbor forever. Bless you, you are truly a hero!

You did an excellent job with a good outcome.
    Thanks for sharing.
Since the result is so good, you probably will not have PTSS-like symptoms or bad dreams.
Very good you did your story here, I think.
