    Default Good news

My brain MRI came back normal! Phew! Still don't know what's causing my brutal headaches, but glad it isn't vasculitis in my brain.

Well good news about the MRI scan Lisa, my WG invaded my Meningeal layer around the brain and it wasnt a whole lot of fun.

Could it be sinus or perhaps your ears causing you pain? Wishing you a speedy resolve and better health!

Hi Debra, nothing too unusual, just a continual nagging pain in the front right of my head, extending from just above my eyebrow and going back a couple of inches into the hair line.
They injected a dye I guess into my blood and slipped me into a scanner which clearly showed the "invasion" into the meningeal sac. For the life of me I simply cannot recall with any accuracy how it was treated, I'm tempted to say by a significant increase in steroid but I will inquire when I visit Addenbrookes in October for my next check up. I am now up to 4 month intervals, the best in 6 years, Yippeee!!

I am so glad that your MRI is ok
still, you need to find out what is causing the headaches and how to stop then. check eyes, ears, back, neck. also check if you are not anemic (not only hemoglobin but also fe-iron and ferritin in blood tests). I think (not sure, please correct me if I am worng) that lack of iron can cause headaches.
please update us. sending hugs and prayers

I've been anemic for years... I take iron supplements and try to eat iron-rich foods. I'm told it could be 'anemia of chronic disease', which I take to mean there's not much that can be done about it. I still want to talk to my GP and rheumy about the headaches. I want to know who read the MRI and whether a Wegs specialist can look at it as well. I also will ask for an X-ray of my c-spine as RA (my original diagnosis) can cause trouble with the neck joints and if those are out of whack they can cause all kinds of trouble in addition to headaches. I think I will also ask to see a neurologist. If nothing else I need to better manage the pain but I'd love to find and treat the cause. And I am anticipating Phil's next response: yes, I know you're right, it's on my list, I'm definitely going to now make an appointment with a chiro too!

That is good news Lisa. Hopefully they can figure out what's causing the headaches. I know with sinus and ear involvement, they once said that the disease was so bad in my left ear that it could have affected the facial nerve and that was probably causing the pain. I literally thought I was maybe having a stroke because I went to the ER with horrible pain and numbness on the left side. From left temple all the way to the middle of my chin.
I would definitely nag your Drs till you get an answer. Better to nag a little than to have permanent hearing loss.
