Default How many rounds of Cyclo

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to see what your experience has been with Cyclo?

I have had 1 and another 1 coming on tuesday. All bloods back in normal range and blood and urine gone after first so I may only be having three infusions.

    What have others experienced?

    C

I took most of my CTX orally for about 8 months after two IV doses and believe the oral meds are the most common way people take it.

I took oral ctx (100-150 mg/day) for almost 16 months. My rheumy at Cleveland Clinic says that I can't take it again. It did some damage to my bone marrow and I had visible blood in urine about three months before I was taken off it. I take mtx now. I feel very well and lead a moderately active lifestyle.

Not to hijack the thread, but how much mtx are you on, Pete? I'm on 8, but feel fine.

I took cyclophosphamide for six months (oral med) until the lesions in my lungs were gone. It was explained to me that they use cytoxin when you have serious lung or kidney involvement.

I'm at 17.5 mg/wk of mtx. I split the dose taking 3 pills in the am and 4 pills in the pm on Wednesdays. I'm generally a little tired on Thursday, but I don't let it slow me down.

I think they said I'll get 6 rounds of Cyclo IV's. Two at the hospital, and then 4 after my visit (just day trips to the hospital). Never had cyclos before, and certainly a bit anxious about it.

Guess I'm gonna be on three immuno-suppresants on Monday, 80mg pred, 25mg MTX and then the cyclo IV. Fun times.

I had 6 IV infusions of cyclo, once a month for 6 months at the beginning of diagnosis.

I took 6 mos. oral chemo upon dx. I relapsed and went into renal failure. I did cyclo infusions once a month x 6 mos. then once a quarter for 1.5 years for a total of 2 years. I am sitting in the infusion chair right now for my second to last treatment. My neph used his tried and true protocol. Worked well, but expensive and lengthy.
