Default Does this lab work look like a good place to start for a diagnosis?

I found this panel of bloodwork online. It does not include ANCA, which is $299 alone but I thought if this comes back suspect I can shell out for the ANCA next. Just trying to find a good place to start with the least amount of money as possible for now. Thanks guys. Heres the link:

Now Im reading another thread here thats freaking me out! Basically you can have normal blood work and still have this disease? I doubt my sinuses are going to show anything with a biopsy, I don't think I had an infection long enough, it was only around on and off for 2 months maybe? I haven't had chronic sinus issues or allergies. My main symptoms right now are fatigue, flu like symptoms, eye redness and random head pains. Does anyone know what other tests can I request to push for a diagnosis? I think there is a specialist at the Mayo Clinic here in Jacksonville but I wonder if they would even see me unless I had some concrete evidence of Wegeners?

Amanda, welcome to the site. The blood test above is a good place to start. It gives tests for the liver and kidneys too as well as a CBC, CRP, and sed rate. Good luck.

My monthly labs include C-reactive protein, sedimentation rate, complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, and urinalysis with microscopy. These will likely show inflammation presence and evaluate kidney function.

I had an ANCA test in July 2012 (about 18 months after dx) and haven't had one since. My rheumy follows sed rate, creatinine level, and urinalysis pretty closely.

Mayo in Jax will see you. I would suggest making an appointment now as you will probably have to wait 4-6 weeks. If you have to self pay it will be pricey, but perhaps your insurance will kick in by then. I would make an appointment to see an ENT first. They will refer you if needed to others in the clinic. I was there in April and had no problems making an appt. (I live in Orlando.) If you want to know what I paid (or my insurance was billed) PM me and I'll share it with you.
