My nutritionist just added this to my supplements a few months ago. I haven't noticed any particular difference. I do know it is supposed to help with inflammation - but sometimes I wonder if it means a more general type inflammation for people who do no have a disease causing the issue.

For people on CTX, the info sheets warn against turmeric while on it. All the same, I used a little, not for the inflammation, but just for flavoring foods, as in curry dishes. I think it would take a lot to make it help with inflammation, though I have no idea how much.

I spoke with my rheumy about it yesterday and she said it couldn't hurt, but wasn't sure of the dosage. From what I've read it is one if the most studied herbs/spices for inflammation. I think the recommendation is 1000mg/d, though I a starting with 400 mg/d. I have a pain in my left leg/upper thigh that I have had since diagnosis...not sure what causes it, but hoping turmeric will help. Thanks!!

I would expect prednisone to work a little better, but don't know if you are still on that or want to be...

I am stil on prednisone...definitely don't want to be, but that's the way it goes. I am back up to 20 mg/day.

I was put on a light maintenance dose of 5mg/day of pred 5 months ago and I'm loving it. I haven't felt this good in 5 years. Unbounded energy.
