Don't worry Anne, it happens. I've been known to call my children by the dog's name and vice versa. I've also noticed on the forum I will read a post and not get around to answering, then go back to add something later and it is easy to end up on a different thread, or read just the most recent post in a thread and respond without noticing the original post or person's name. At least it's easy for me and my foggy brain.

Hi Everyone
A little bit about myself. I'm 61 I had never been sick and didn't even have a regular doctor until a ruptured appendix went undiagnosed 7 years ago ended up with a serious infection. I became a member of the WG club late 2012 after a variety of symptoms running nose, sinus, Asthma, chest infection, pneumonia, I had never even had a chest cold before this, two ruptured ear drums which were still not as painful as the outer ears, Headaches, aches and pains that moved around and oh so tired, I was starting to believe that maybe I was imaging it all, but it was the bloods and rash wish sealed it for my GP who was quick to diagnose after several calls to my now rheumo. I have been coming to this site since I found you and thank God for you all because I am my doctors first ever WG patient and he is learning with me and my Rheumo who I am told is the best, gives out non to very little information.
I'm on Methotextrate started on 20mg and 50mg of Prednisone went straight into remission but was getting nausea and vomiting so the Doc dropped the Meth to 10mg and stared reducing the got down to 3mg but was losing it after 5mg. I was put back on 5mg for several months and then started to taper down once again. I've just had my first flare up it was like starting from the beginning the aches the pain the rash Meth up again and Preds back to 10 and dropping 1mg per fortnight at present. It seems every time I get under 5mg I hit the deck. Last bloods showed a flare and a bladder infection I was put on Bactrim I had no symptoms of the infection but the Bactrim made me so ill. At present feeling great even though the weight is a battle. I hated taking the meds in the beginning but the preds make me feel like I'm normal. I just have to put up with the blurry vision and side effects.
My Original scan show lungs were clear but I did have some kidney involvement, due to early diagnoses I believe this can be kept under control. Only last week feeling great on my Predinsone I coughed up bloody mucus so I was just wondering is this normal with no lung involvement?

im brand new here, just got diagnosed last week. I'm from Brisbane too, just wondering who your doctors/specialist is. I'm seeing an immunologist from Greenslopes who seems to really know his business. His name is Hayworth-Smith.

Feeling very sad and numb, only 37 with a 2 & 4 year old. My lungs seem clear and my throat but very bad in my sinuses. Started on 75mg steroids last week and feel like thi insomnia will kill me rather than the WG. Chemo to follow.

Hi Megan please don't feel sad it's a little overwhelming at first but life gets better, the drug thing was hard for me at first but trust me your better off following the doctors instructions. I see a rheumatologist Dr Martin Devereaux at Carina I believe he is Also at Sunnybank I'm told he's very good it's just hard to get information That's where this forum is the place to get all your answers. Let me know if you need anything
