    Default CRP blood test parameters

Hi went to new Dr today with latest blood test results the CRP (inflammation) used to be 4-12mm normal but he told me the new normal is <3 (3 or less) and has set pred at 20mg per day and MTX at 25mg per week.
Please come back with your normal CRP that your DR is happy with.
This is in Ireland/UK may be different in your country.
    Many thanks
Stephen (distraught as had got pred down to 7.5mg and the higher dose makes me feel lousy)

Hey Stephen ,so sorry to hear that you had to go up on your meds. I noticed that it differs in different parts of the states but in Ohio ,my lab, goes 0.0 -0.4 is the normal range. My last result was 0.1. What was yours that he upped it so much ?

Hmm, I don't understand why he upped your pred then.

At Ohio State, the desired range is no more than 10 mg/L. My latest was 9.80.

Our range here in BC, Canada is <5. There was no concern from my doctors at 17. I myself wonder how high a cold/flu can make it go....

My CRP was over 250 and My ESR was over 300. Both too high to report.

Is your CRP based on mm/1st hour5 (whatever that means)
Mine is 9 mm/1st hour5 and ESR is 13 mm/hr (whatever that means)
