Default Relocating to Washington DC, can anyone reccomend a WG specialist?

Hi all I was diagnosed with WG a little over a year ago, I am currently in Saint Louis and have been doing fine with my doctors here. My fiancée is taking a job is Washington DC and I am going back to school to change careers, do you all have any recommendations for Rheumatologists and Nephrologists in the DC area?

    Thank you!

Some people go to Johns Hopkins University Hospital. I know there is a Dr. Seo there. Go to vasculitis.org and you will find them along with contact info. Good luck with the move.

I live in VA and have been to Dr Seo at Johns Hopkins for a second opinion he has a great reputation. Presently I am seeing Dr Peter Merkel at University of PA hospital in Philadelphia. He is an excellent Dr and is involved in many clinical trials and research. It is worth the 4 hour drive for me to see him. I am in a study with Dr Merkel now and get he rituximab infusion free of charge.

Thank you for the responses I will definitely by checking out University of PA Hospital now. My doctors are all at the research hospital here in STL and it has made things a lot easier and a lot quicker it seems than it would have if I had not gone to a research hospital. Thank you!

Dr Merkel has been doing this a long time. I saw him give an impressive presentation many years ago in Kansas City and he was so funny I seriously thought he could quit this whole 'Dr' thing if it doesn't work out - and become a stand up comedian.
