Wish I understood how to read that, but I'm sure others will. I'm very sorry you've had further negative developments to report. I go in for a CT scan of my sinuses this afternoon and will talk about that later.

Inge is it possible that you're passing a kidney stone? I wouldn't wait until Friday at any rate and would go to the ER. Any pain that bad in the kidney area needs to be looked ASAP. Just my two cents worth. Could also be why you aren't voiding much.

I don't think it's a kidney stone. The severe pain only lasts for a few minutes then it becomes mild and flares up occasionally on moving. It then becomes severe again for a while after voiding. I assume if its a stone I am passing the severe pain would last a lot longer.

I still wouldn't wait as the GP might send you to the ER anyway and there could be something significantly wrong that needs prompt attention.

Inge, I can see that you are still logged in to this forum so I presume you haven't gone yet
You know what my thoughts are - get off to the hospital.
I hope that it turns out to be just an infection, but it is better to be safe than sorry........this wegs dog is a very sneaky beast
We will be waiting for your Austin Hospital update

Thanks Michelle I decided to first have my breakfast (9am) take the insulin and all the rest of the meds. That way I only need to worry about the Prednisolone at 12 noon after lunch and that's easier than having to take the entire lot to the Austin. Knowing I could be sitting there for a few hours. SO.... yes still here but planning to head off.

Currently on a hospital trolley waiting on the doctors here to speak with my Rheumy to figure out what tests to do. Initial thoughts were that it appears more like back ache than kidneys however some blood in urine and infection markers up. So need to wait in what tests they feel are appropriate.

My thoughts are with you, I hope and wish for you good news.

It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop!
Thank you Jana. They have done a CT scan of the kidneys. Blood and urine test results indicate infection more likely in kidneys than UTI. They discussed with my Rheumy doing tests as a process of of elimination. He didn't seem too concerned and told them he was seeing me next week anyway. Must have had me mixed up with someone else as my next appointment is on the 29th. However if I am sent home without any answers I will definitely be seeing him next week!!!!
