My wife grew up in a house that was smoke free and she never smoked. She did get a lot of second hand smoke from me, cigs, pipes, and cigars. If it burned, I smoked it until 20 years ago. So I have a new theory, if she had smoked, she would have toughened up her lungs and air passages and her immune system wouldn't have gone nuts over some insignificant thing two years ago. She also had Rynaulds syndrome when she was a teenager-the ends of her fingers turn blue when the get cold.
