I'm thinking of merging the 'New Member Introductions" and "Weggies Stories" forums as they seem to me to basically relate to the same thing. What do y'all think?

Positive: Puts all similar stories into one place.
Negative: Possibly a lot of stuff to search through when searching for a specific topic. Site's advanced search capability probably minimizes this.
Opinion: Do it.

To be honest I was not sure which area to post my story when I first joined. So this sounds like a good idea to me. Would this make running the Forum easier?

On the negative side, the New Members Introductions makes the new members feel special and welcome. True, the Weggies Stories could function for both, but it may be harder to tell who is new and who just rarely posts. But if it makes it easier for you in some way, go for it. Could the titles somehow be combined without becoming too cumbersome?

I'm with Anne here in so far as I believe that New Members should be given a specific area to post.
It can be a daunting thing to be diagnosed and then post on a forum so the whole world can comment without mixing your 'new bee' statement with 'seasoned pro's'!!
I believe that a little bit of surgery to tidy up the sub headings would suffice so as to clearly delineate 'Newcomers' to everyone else.
Perhaps "Weggie Stories" could be re-titled "Weggie Experiences" or even done away with and the "Stories" placed within drugs, treatment or other areas of the forum relevant to the primary issue.
Sorry, Way too much waffle going on here!! Revert to the opening line....
Plus, I can't be absolutely sure a newcomer would know what a Weggie is.... it shouldn't be too hard to figure out, but it could be some kind of inside joke or special designation.... I still think they might be more comfortable posting in the New Member spot, where there's absolutely no doubt. On the other hand, new members are likely to have browsed for a bit before joining, so have had a chance to get the lay of the land.

I tend to agree with Anne and Geoff, that having a place for new members is better than just being thrown into the stories since some of the stories are on going things. This gives them a place of their own to start a thread.
