    Salt is one environmental factor that doesn't readily come to my mind when considering why we have more auto immune disorders today than a decade or two back. I wonder if it has increased much this century while they have noted an increase in various auto immune disorders. My guess is that excessive salt was just as prevalent or more prevalent when it was used more decades ago to help dry and preserve various foods.

    Perhaps, but then they wouldn't have been able to diagnose why someone did of some funky disease.. I can already see the healer shouting "Wegener demons be gone"!
