Default Every time you actually NEED a doctor....

    Miscellanous Rant
I've developed this nasty cough over the past few days that seems to have turned into a nasty case of the flu. Given that it's not getting any better, I tried the after hours doc tonight. I've made appointments with the after hours doc before mainly because I've run out of a prescription and need one quickly. They operate from 8pm to 6am every night in ten minute appointment slots. Do you think I could get one? Nooooooo. I even coughed into the phone to demonstrate but the appointments lady wasn't moved. Sigh.

I'm going to try my GP today when they open but he'll probably be full too. Will probably have to go to ER if that is the case.

Normally I can cruise through these things ok but because of this stupid pig flu I've got this silly nagging thing in the back of my head...oh...wait...that's my wife
    End rant

Haha well yes, unbeknownst to be she was standing behind me when I posted that. Thankfully, she has a keen sense of humour. I hope.

I hope she has a good sense of humor, too. Otherwise, you'll be calling for an appointment about a cough and a shoe implanted in the back of your head! I wonder which complaint they'll get to first???

Got an appointment at 9pm tonight. Yay! My GP wasn't available until Friday.

    9 at night? !

The doctors here only work 9 - 5 although there is always an out of hours service available too. At my own GP's I always get a same day appointment, yet everyone still moans about our NHS.
Apart from nearly killing me, I think they're pretty good.

Yeah there's an after hours medical service here. The docs each take a night during the week.

I have a lung infection so I have been prescribed antibiotics. I explained that I have WG (it's on the file as well) and that I'm on Immunosuppressants. He looks at me and says "I'm going to give you Tamiflu". Great I think, he listened. "You're in a high-risk group". Great I think. He listened. "It's because you're fat" O.o

Haha, ok whatever does the job.

It seems to me there are a lot of lung infections going around. I just got over one last month. Hopefully you can shake this one quickly Andrew.
