    Default Biopsy question

I am going to the ENT tomorrow for a sinus biopsy. I have stopped the prednisone and tomorrow will be the 5th day off it. I have had headaches and every joint and muscle in my body hurts but for some reason my sinuses are not as stuffed up as they usually are. I still have drainage down the back of my throat but not nearly as bad as before I started prednisone and imuran. Anyhow, my question is, will this lack of inflamation effect the biopsy?

    Thanks, Wanda

It should not affect the biopsy, but it may affect the tissue itself that is extracted. A sinus biopsy can be a telltale sign, especially if the doc gets a 'good' piece for the WG sample. A lung biopsy is better. Your headaches and joint aches could simply be a withdrawal from pred or a minor flare...have doc check that too. Best to you.
