    Default Curious about Nerve Issues

I’m currently on an anti-viral for shingles and started 1/04/13. The right side of my face started tingling (no rash) several days after a fall, landing on my face. It has gotten better but not completely gone. And now, my feet are having a weird symptom. They feel like they are freezing but when I touch them they feel warm. It’s very odd. Almost like they are frost bit.
Could it be that I don’t have shingles but an issue starting with my nerves? Has anyone else had this?

So, no one knows what I'm referring to, or experienced this? It now effects my hands too.

The feet sounds a bit like it could be neuropathy, but I woudn't think you'd have had the sensation on your face first. Honestly I get weird numb places, but my doctor seems to think they aren't related to Wegs. Sorry I'm guessing that's not much help

The face thing was just one side and my PCP says it was shingles from the fall and face plant on the floor. The other is a different feeling altogether. Like a burning and tingling sensation that feels like I have come in from the cold. Only my feet aren't cold.

My PCP wants me to see a neurologist. Just waiting on a referral. I'm assuming that is who I need to see. While all these minor issues are annoying, I'm so thankful they aren't on the serious side like many of my fellow Weggies.

I've seen neurologist and all he said is that its part of wegs and that is that. I know exactly what you mean. Outwardly my feet are warm but it feels like they are freezing. I have learned just to live with it, it comes and goes. I'd rather not take any more meds than absolutely necessary.

I couldn't agree more. No more meds please. However, I think getting it checked out would be best since I was also having the tingling on the right side of my face just after the fall. They treated it as Shimgles but since I didn't have a rash they weren't even sure.

Yes, I did. He called it Polly Neuropathy and started me on Gabapentin and wants to have an MRI to check out a couple things since it's not only my hands and feet but my face is still tingling. Waiting on my insurance to approve it. It's been two weeks though.

I'm not happy about the new med, but it seems to be working on my hands and feet, just not the right side of my face.

    Thanks for asking.
