Lupus is another autoimmune disease, which can be confined to your face and hair and affects your scalp and face with rashes or it could present symptoms in other parts of your body (i.e.,muscles, lungs, heart, etc).

It's definitely a good idea to to take a photo of your rash along with you when you see your doctor as this will give him a better idea as to what type of rash it is.

I would also like to add that it could be "rosacea", a skin condition that makes your face turn red and it has a very similar appearance to the "lupus" butterfly rash.

I was going to say the same thing.
Gwen have you had this king of rash before?

You/we have our RA and the WG and then you could also have MCTD (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease) which also incorporates RA and Lupus.
My rhuemy advised that the medications we are on can also cause an overlap of Auto immune conditions........just as Jack says....just because you have one, doesn't mean you can't have others.

I hope it is nothing and all comes good very shortly. I hope the phone call ended on a positive note.

    Take care

I had the night sweats only in the beginning, so yes, like everyone said, let your doc know. The rash sounds a lot like lupus. Let us know how you are doing.
