Default This One's About Chipping Teeth:

I am 54, so that could be part of it, but I've got 3 chipped teeth. One has already been fitted for a crown (credit card), one has been that way for a couple of years without problems, but it's not going to last forever; and just the other day a 3rd cracked tooth. I'll go as long as I can with the other two as they are, though I worry about bacteria into the bloodstream. Fairly good with dental hygiene though.

Your experience? Age(?), meds, or due to Weg's itself?

I have had several teeth just disintegrate over past years starting before I had GPA and prednisone meds. Mine was attributed to changes in body from diabetes. All have been capped and I get them cleaned every three months. One time the tooth broke two days after dentist said everything looked good, including the x-rays so don't really see much point in doing the x-rays anymore unless i am having symptoms that bother me.

I also have a few chipped teeth, one broken one and one where the enamel keeps chipping off.
I also put it down to the meds.

The broken one was totally repaired (re-built) and broke a week later.
That was about 4 years ago and I haven't been back since.

I'm not afraid of the dentist (except for their charges) but since I cannot breathe through my nose (at all), I just don't know how I am going to be able to lay back in the chair with their hand in my mouth and trying to breathe at the same time.......scares the heck out of me. Therefore, I just can't go back
    ..........I like breathing

    David,
I don't know about chipping, but my dentist has me comming in every 3 months for a cleaning. He says pred affects saliva which affects gums. Another little gift from pred.

    Be Well,
    JeanMarie
