    Default Update After MOHS Surgery

I had the MOHS surgery this morning for the skin cancer (DFSP) and after two cuts, they got it all. It had not gotten to my shin bone, and I'm home recovering nicely. They decided to go ahead and biopsy a spot near my left temple that had been there for a year. She's making sure it's not a granuloma.

It's rather painful but the meds seem to be doing the trick. Thanks for all the well wishes. If you have a chance, please go see a dermatologist for a good look over. You don't have to be a sun queen to have skin cancer as mine was not at all caused by the sun. What do you have to lose?

    Take care all!

I am glad that everything went ok and that is very good news about your shin bone being clear. I can understand that you are feeling some pain at the moment but hopefully that will not lst too long. Do take care of yourself and remember to rest.

Thats excellent news Katrina, I hope the biopsy from the temple also turns out to be good news.

    Excellent advice about the dermatologist.

I hope you manage with the pain and take extra special care or yourself.

I echo all of the above, and I'm very glad the surgery went well and they got it all. Thanks for the advice about the skin cancer.

Glad to hear everything went well Katrina, I'm sure your biopsy will come back good also. That is great advice about seeing a dermatologist. I've had to have bascil cell cancer removed twice on the chest and once and the side of my nose ( all surgicly -sp?) I went a few months ago and there was a spot on my cheek and one on my chest that he froze..but the one on my chest is back so I have an appt. this week to go back. My father passed of melonomia so I am cautious yet a sun worshipper until all the meds. Take care and keep getting better !!
