Default If you are in the North East Dallas or Denton areas!

I have two Doctors on my Team that treat my Wegeners.

Rheumatology - Dr. A.M. Luciano: Dr Luciano is located in Denton and she is an extraordinary Doctor who goes to the next level for her Wegeners Patients. She is genuinely caring and very proactive in the treatment of her patients. She stays up to date on the latest studies and discusses them during our visits. She proactively checks up on me to see how I am doing if she hasn't heard from me in a specified amount of time. If you are a weggie and you are close enough to Denton to make the trip I would recommend you go see her. If you are close enough to Denton and you need a Rheumatologist I would go see her, you won't find anyone better!

Pulmonology - Dr. Glenn Genovese: Dr Genovese is probably a genius. He is the one who diagnosed me after I was misdiagnosed my first time in the Hospital and he did it while I was still in the ER. I have been told by other Specialists in my care that he has Diagnosed several other really rare and hard to diagnose diseases in their patients. He is pretty straight forward and I've heard that some don't like his bedside manner. My wife called him Dr. House while I was in the Hospital. In spite of his sometimes abrasive and professional front, he genuinely cares about his patients and if you are close enough to Denton and you are a Weggie who's lungs have been affected you Definitely want Dr. Genovese on your Team. I should note that as a Marine I appreciated his straight forward approach to my Diagnosis and the delivery of the news. It helped me to get my head around what I was facing and what I needed to do to stay alive. If you are in need of a Pulmonologist you want him on your Team!

This is nice to know, Gunny. My son went to UNT, and didn't have a lot of nice things to say about Denton (or most parts of Texas, though he did like Austin). On the other hand, he never had to find a WG doctor. Glad you found your own House!
