    Default Getting Pregnant after MTX

Believe it or not, i have an 18yr old, & a 3yr old, (i know, a 15 year span ) and my husband and i would like to have another one, has anyone gotten pregnant after MTX. my doctor told me that it is possible, but i would have to wait 3 months after i have been weaned off, the only downfall is if i were to have a flare up and being treated while pregnant.

I have not used MTX but I am thinking a read a post a long time ago that someone did have children after a few months of being of meds.

I am waiting to hear back from my Mayo doc about getting pregnant again... I am not on Methotrexate anymore (haven't been for over a year) but had Rituxan in April of this year...

When I talked to a fertility specialist back in December, he recommended being drug free and in remission for two solid years before considering a pregnancy.

Adrina -- another black weggie, wow! you don't see us often. I'm 46 and don't want more but my doc (ENT, because I guess he didn't know I don't want more children, my rheumy certainly did) has always said at least six months off meds before getting pregnant. He has treated many pregnant women though -- they put them on imuran usually, the safest of the drugs in pregnancy. He's done the kind of surgery I've had done (opening my airways) on pregnant women and again, mom and kid are fine.

He's one of the best known ENTs for wegs, so he sees all types.

Jan, that would be nice if my Mayo doc could talk to your ENT doc! Pregnancy and Wegeners is so rare, it would be nice to talk to someone who has seen more cases.
