Thanks to everyone for good wishes. Actually they put me out under general anesthesia. I only remember waking up, needing to pee and a sore throat from the endo trachael (ET) tube. I pushed to get discharged even though I feel like I get superb care because all of the nurses and doctors know me. Because I have a Nurse practitioner(NP) as my primary care provider I get a hospitalist as my admitting physician. Since most of them know me they pretty much do what I ask, which is why I have a NP as my primary care provider, she listens to me but isn't afraid to challenge my thinking. I am taking it easy today and tomorrow to lessen the chances of waking up the Weg dog.
Good luck Beth, I always ask for pyridium( turns urine bright orange) and oxybutin, it eases the discomfort.
