    Smile Renaming Wegener's Granulomatosis

I was reading a discussion elsewhere about renaming Wegener's Granulomatosis because Dr. Wegener was a Nazi. Although I think it appropriate that an icky disease has an icky name from an icky guy, it got me thinking. So here are a few of my attempts to come up with totally innocuous and politically correct names to use if the medical profession renames Wegener's. These are designed to not upset anyone:

    1. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood Disease
    2. Teletubbies Disease
    3. Barney the Dinosaur Disease
    4. Care Bear Disease
    5. Warm and Cuddly Disease

    Any other suggestions?

    Default Barney

I do think Barney the Dinosaur is a good mascot because he sounds like his nose is plugged up.

Anyone who is interested in Wegener's background should read - http://chestjournal.chestpubs.org/co...132/3/739.full
To my mind his actions were a little questionable, but I am not in favour of making changes to satisfy politically correct dogma.
